Seems to be a while since I posted anything, been a bit busy you see. Today I have to paint a portrait of my friend Mark Barnes, Britain’s 4th greatest illustrator and purveyor of Doom at it’s doomiest. I have to do this today because it’s going into this portrait exhibition organised by the extremely talented Marissa Mardon, who painted the picture in the flyer above. I’m helping with the hanging on Friday. Must paint today!
Some time soon I will let you know what else I’ve been up to of late, it’s pretty damn cool if you ask me…

That’s You That Is!
Tuesday, 20th July, 2010Monoprint family workshop weekend!
Sunday, 23rd May, 2010This weekend I’ve been doing workshops in monoprinting. It’s been fun and some great work came from some great kids. I took pictures of my favourite pieces and I learnt a very important lesson, illustrated in the final of the four pictures below. That is, always consider the outline when providing photocopies for kids to trace. I swear to god the monkey is holding onto a finger. This particular version is actually by me, not a kid, though at least one other version came into existence before I realised and took the picture away. I gave mine to Sara Norling, who intends to put it up in her house. She made me a customised T-shirt with a ghost on it, which I love.
